Department Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide superior instruction in all areas of chemistry to undergraduate and graduate students, including majors and non-majors, while advancing the frontiers of chemistry.

The Department of Chemistry at Drexel University offers an American Chemical Society certified B.S. degree as well as both M.S. and Ph.D. degrees. Advanced study can be conducted in analytical, inorganic, organic, physical, or polymer chemistry. We offer a wide choice of research areas within these major branches, including atmospheric, biological, environmental, mechanistic, theoretical, or synthetic aspects of chemistry to name a few. The department currently has over 85 undergraduate and 50 graduate students enrolled. With 12 tenure-track faculty members, the student/faculty ratio is excellent.
