• Exploration of a newly discovered [3,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement in which O-allyl nitronic esters are thermally converted to g,d-unsaturated nitro compounds
• Development and exploitation of a carbon-based hemiacetal mimic
• Exploration of cycloaddition reactions involving nitroethylene derivatives and novel nitrile oxides
• The chemistry of novel nitro compounds
